Description
Pears are usually smoked to extend their shelf life. When baked in an oven, warm air (the warmest is 40-90 °C) removes moisture but preserves flavor and vitamins, and the smoke, in turn, saturates them with a light smoked flavor. Drying takes at least a week. During this time, the pears darken because the smoke passes through the skin during drying and partially remains in it.
Smoked pears are not only delicious, but also very healthy! A decoction of them has long been used as an antipyretic. And the presence of potassium in the fruit allows them to be used to prevent cardiovascular diseases, and iron – to fight fatigue.
Usage: decoction of dried pears, salads, soups, pastries, borscht
Storage: at a temperature not lower than 2 ° C and not higher than 10 ° C and humidity not more than 65%.
Shelf life: 6 months from the date of packaging, in a closed container
